Year 9 Options 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians

Key Stage 4 Options Subjects 2018 - 2020

The selection of optional subjects is one of the crucial moments in any student’s secondary education.  All students have already started to complete work of GCSE standard in all their subjects, but will opt to specialise and follow a two year GCSE programme, starting in Year 10.  The experience of studying some of the GCSE content in Year 9 will allow staff to give specific guidance to ensure students have the aptitude for particular subjects and allow students to make a more informed choice.

2017 GCSE Results

Building on the success and continued improvement of recent years the quality of results have been maintained in a summer examination season which has seen students sitting the new Grade 9 – 1 GCSEs for the first time in Maths and English. Staff and students worked hard to prepare for examinations that no one had seen or previously taken.

The new examinations are more challenging and rigorous containing different content and examination style questions. As a result, a direct comparison with results from previous years is meaningless.

Life After Ramsey - Jemma Ford

It is always fantastic to hear what our former students are up to.

Jemma left us in 2012 and is now coming to the end of her Degree course in Fashion Photography at Falmouth University. Part of her final project is to put on a professional exhibition in London with 53 of her fellow students to showcase their work to industry professionals. They have to raise all the funds themselves to put on the exhibition and are using Kickstarter to raise funds from friends and family.
