At The Ramsey Academy we are committed to providing good quality careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) for all students in years 7 to 11. Students, therefore, access CEIAG throughout their time at The Ramsey Academy so they begin to understand the world of work and its changing career opportunities, and to see the relevance of school to their future lives.
Students will have the opportunity to have at least one dedicated meeting with an independent and Impartial careers adviser. Following a meeting, students will receive a copy of the notes made, including an action plan and details of where further information can be found.
Careers education, information and guidance is provided through our PSHE curriculum, excursions and visits, and additional support from advisers and tutors.
The school also organises external agencies and speakers to deliver assemblies and give advice where relevant.
How do we measure or assess our careers programme?
- Surveys from staff and students who attend the events. E.g. mock interview day and the careers fair.
- Each student completes an evaluation after their careers interview
- NEET data
- The Compass Plus Evaluation
- Compass Plus activity record
