On Wednesday 19th November The Ramsey Academy, Halstead took 29 pupils to compete in the North West Essex District Cross Country at the Great Notley Country Park. All pupils were a credit to the school with the effort they put in and their excellent conduct.
As we head towards winter, students need to prepare themselves for the colder weather in their PE lessons. Boys should all have rugby shirts which they should be wearing for football and rugby. Not only are they warmer, but they are also more hard-wearing for these types of sports than their summer polo shirts.

Charity Week is a new initiative for the Ramsey Academy, Halstead where each House has the task of raising money in aid of their chosen charity. Aspiration was the first House to host the special Charity Week; Diversity will follow in the Spring term in aid of Essex Air Ambulance and Endeavour in the Summer term in aid of PARC.
Year 8 students were set a homework to create a collage in the style of Matisse and based on his painting The Goldfish. The standard and quality of the homework handed in was absolutely fantastic.
My Trip to PGL
Hello, I'm Amelia Dean and I am a Year 8 student at the Ramsey Academy. Last year, I went on a trip with the rest of Year 8 to a PGL camp in Lincolnshire, and I had a brilliant time.

“Staff and students celebrate record breaking examination results”
Students and staff at The Ramsey Academy are celebrating record breaking GCSE examination results. Year 11 students achieved a record high 60% A*-C including English and Maths, a 19% increase from 2013. Full details of GCSE results can be seen by following the link below.
Literacy is a very important aspect of life at The Ramsey Academy, Halstead. Without it, no learning can take place in any subject, not to mention its importance as a life skill in the wider world.
Congratulations to Milly Cooper-Britland who represented The Ramsey Academy at The Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge regional inter-school competition on 15th May. Although not a winner on the night, Milly was a credit to the school and put up a good fight with her speech on social workers.
Congratulations to Ben Morris (Year 10) who is making excellent progress at the Ipswich Town Academy. Ben is presently in the Under 16 squad and is looking to progress after his time at the Ramsey Academy, Halstead by securing himself a scholarship.

On Thursday 1st May 30 lucky Year 10 students will have a day off from their normal timetable, spending the day in a workshop with a Speakers Trust trainer paid for by The Jack Petchey Foundation.
Students from year 8 took part in the learner to learner project launch on Friday 7th February at Mersea Outdoors. Our students will be working together with students from other local schools to develop a showcase about what they think makes a happy and successful school. Despite the cold and wet weather, the day was a huge success and all of the students involved worked extremely hard.
