I came into School Governance shortly after taking early retirement from Transco*, for whom I worked in numerous Operational and Management roles, both locally and nationally, over a period of 26 years. I have been a governor at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form, where I am currently the Chair of Governors, since 2006, and I joined The Ramsey Academy Governing Body in 2012; I am also a member of the NEMAT Board.
In one way or another I have always been close to education, whether through my own time at school/university, my wife’s secondary school teaching career, or our grand children’s current journey through the education system. I am very aware of how important good education is to the success of individuals and employers alike.
My aim as a governor is to ensure that all at Ramsey have high aspirations, and that students, no matter what their abilities or background, are given an inspirational environment in which to learn, and every opportunity and encouragement to develop into valued members of society.
